We welcomed Addison into our family on December 2nd, 2008 at 1:31 A.M. She weighed 7 lbs 7 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. I had false labor all weekend and had contractions pretty steadily on Sunday and Monday. Monday they were pretty random but by Monday night I was in so much pain we just went to the hospital even though they were a little irregular. We checked in at about 11:00 P.M. and I had her at 1:30. It all went really fast by the time I got to the hospital. Everything went really well!! I don't have too many pictures from the hospital because Addison had her blood test and tested positive on the Coombs test. It is a blood disorder that has to do with the RH factor. Addison's blood mixed with mine and her body had a bad reaction to it. It didn't make much sense because Addison and I have the same blood type. The doctor just told us that sometimes there are rare anitgens that are in the blood that can make the baby have this reaction. This caused her to get really, really bad jaundice. They had to take her out of our room and put her in the NICU and put her on phototherapy. The only time she came off the lights was when I needed to feed her. So we didn't see much of her in the hospital. She was able to come home with us but we have to use the phototherapy blanket here. She has to be on it all the time. We took her to the doctor today and got her blood taken again. Her levels have gone up more since we left the hospital so she needs to stay on the phototherapy. We go again on Monday to get her labs done and we'll see where she is at then. It's been pretty crazy and stressful but we just love having a little girl. She is so precious. Jax is adjusting pretty well, I think. He's having a little bit of a hard time but he's not out of control. It has been hard for me adjusting to two kids. I think it hit me today at the doctors office when Jax wanted to play with the stroller and I wouldn't let him....he threw a tantrum. I mean on the floor, kicking and screaming tantrum. While he was doing that, Addison went to the bathroom for the 10th time in an hour and was also screaming. So, I was trying to change her diaper, calm her down, deal with Jaxon's tantrum, and answer the doctors questions all at the same time. It was pretty crazy! I've heard that you're not actually a parent until you have two....I felt that today, for sure!!! Dave has been able to take the week off though so that has been nice to have his help! I don't know what I'd do without him!

jessica she's beautiful. I'm sorry to hear about the different blood type. my sister had that with her baby and it was kind of scary but they detected it while she was still prego so it wasn't that bad. i hope all does well. and i love her name. I'm so exited for you. good luck with officially becoming a mom. haha
She's gorgeous! I love the name you chose! Hopefully she will be able to get off that blanket soon! It's so sad to see older siblings have to adjust to a new baby...it will happen though!

Jessica!! I cannot believe you are a Mom of TWO now! Crazy. It doesn't seem like that long ago when we were singing in Mr. Woolley's class. Sigh...
Anyway, she is BEAUTIFUL! You guys have the cutest kids. I bet having a girl is too fun. I hope everything gets sorted out with her.
