Jax turns 2!

My baby boy turned 2 last week!!! I can't believe it. It feels like just yesterday Dave and I were going crazy waiting for him to get here. I've put together some pictures throughout the last 2 years of our little Jax....

The day he was born...poor little guy was pretty beaten up.

Daddy's first night singing Jax to sleep.
Jaxon's hospital picture at 1 day old.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Jax! Jaxon was 3 months on Halloween.

Jaxon holding Addi for the first time.
Jax praying

Jaxon's 2nd birthday party. Here he is blowing out his candles.

Eating cake and holding his Cars. He loves CARS!!

Jax opening his presents. Each time he'd open a gift he'd say "WOW"

this picture is just because I couldn't help but post it. Poor kid looses his pants all the time. He's so skinny but so tall so it's hard to find the right size for him. I guess he lost his pants while going down the slide and when he ran over to tell us he stepped in mud. Jaxon HATES to be dirty so he just stood there yelling "Ohhhh what is that?" It was pretty cute!

Jax has brought us so much joy the last 2 years. We can't imagine our family without him. He's a crazy little kid but he is a lot of fun and is always saying/doing such funny things. Here are just 10 out of the 100 billion reasons I love Jax!

1. He has such a tender heart. He always wants to make people happy and hates it when people are upset. If he thinks you're mad, he'll come up and put his arm around you and say "hi" in this really sweet voice.
2. He is really good with his little sister. He loves to hold her (even though she weighs more than him) and always makes sure she is doing what she is supposed to be doing. Whenever she gets into anything she shouldn't he runs and takes it from her and says "No, no Addi girl"
3. Jaxon HATES to be dirty. If he gets anything on his hands he comes to me and says "ohhh noo mom" and shows me what is dirty. I love that because I hate anything dirty as well!
4. To follow that one...he also cleans for me. Whenever he spills something on the floor he quickly runs to get a towel to clean it up. It is amazing!! I have a story to go with this one....the other day we were at Dave's moms house and all the kids were outside playing with chalk. Jax saw what they were doing and ran inside, grabbed some wet wipes, ran back out and started cleaning the chalk off the sidewalk. It was adorable! I've taught him well!!
5. He loves to pray! Everytime we sit to eat, Jax is usually the first one with his arms folded and head down. He always just mumbles in this high pitched, sweet voice and then throws his arms up and just Amen! The other day Dave was at work and we were eating dinner and Jax stopped in the middle and started to pray. He was mumbling a bunch of words and then said "and papa and dada and mama. Amen." It was the most precious thing I have ever heard!!!
6. He now calls everyone "bud". Whenever he see's something that he likes he'll come up to you and say "That's cool bud".

7. He loves to eat anything, healthy and unhealthy. For the longest time he wouldn't tell me what he wanted, he would just cry and I would always say, "What do you want?" and now he thinks that's what eat/hungry means. Everytime he is hungry he comes up to me and says "what do you want?"
8. He loves to go "bye-bye" and everytime I start to get ready, he runs and puts his shoes on, then brings everyone in the house their shoes as well. Then he just stands by the door till it's time to go.
9. He loves to sing and dance. He has started to dance some of the dance steps to the hawaiian dances we've learned. He does them everytime he hears the music. He also is always humming or singing something. I'm soo happy he got the musical genes from Dave!
10. He is my little cuddle bug! He loves to climb up on your lap with his blanket and just snuggle up to you. It's is so precious and I know I'm going to miss that so much when he stops.
HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY JAXON! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Birthday, Island Friday and Peace Pavilion and more swimming

I turned 21 last week. That's right, I now can....book my own hotel room, go to the cinema suites theater with Dave, at least get into a casino and...that's about it. WHO HOO!! I think Dave is pretty relieved to not have to be so limited in where we can go though. They have this awesome movie theater here where they serve you dinner and you sit in recliners, all while you watch a movie. Dave was pretty pumped to take me on a date there till we found out you had to be 21 because they serve alcohol. I guess that's what he gets for marrying someone so young...he doesn't complain much though. :) So, for my big 21, Dave took me to Macaroni Grill for lunch while his mom watched the kids. It was a nice little date. Then we came home and had cake and ice cream and relaxed. It was really nice. Here are some pics of me with my kids.

For the record...I do realize that I desperately need a new camera. The day will come...hopefully sooner rather than later.
A few weeks ago we went to Island Friday for our Halau group. Dave's brothers and sisters are all part of a Hula Halau group that dance all the polynesian dances. It's awesome. Dave goes when his job allows him to and I've started to do it as well but I'm nooo good. They are all natural and I'm as white as they come. :) They had a Island Friday where all of the Halau groups came and performed their dances and then the boys did a Fire Knife competition. I wish I had pictures of that but of course my camera died (yet another reason why I need a new one). My brother-in-laws Josh, Musu did the fire knife and so did our nephew Ikaika as well as our Kumu Kawika. Anyone having a hard time pronouncing those names?? It took me a while too. They did awesome by the way and I'm definitely going to get Jax started as soon as I wouldn't totally freak out watching him swing a knife with fire on it all around his head...which may be never but I guess I'll have to get used to it, Dave will insist.

Here are all of the keiki (kids) performing their dance. Yes, Addi will be up there as soon as she can walk!

Here is a short clip of the performance. The best is when they all start shaking their hips at the end! Sorry it is a little shaky... I was holding a baby while filming so deal with it. :)

Here is Addi, she is such a happy baby.Jax

Jaxon and Daddy

They have a place here called the Peace Pavilion. It's inside the RLDS tabernacle but it's a really cute kids place where they can make arts and crafts, play inside caves, watch puppet shows and learn about PEACE. The whole place is centered around that, hence the name, but the kids love it. So, we took all our kids there.
Here's Jax crawling out of the rainforest cave.

This was a little house that Jax was looking out the window of.
This are things you jump on and it plays like a piano.

Here is Addi with her cousin Naia.

Jax loves his "papa" He can't get enough of him and has to be held by him whenever he is around. It's pretty cute!

Once again, don't mind the crappy camera. If the lighting was better and Addi's eyes were open this would be a dang cute picture. Of course this is how it would turn out the one time I get them both to smile in a picture!!!
This is her new swim suit, which Dave doesn't like at all, but I love it with all her chub.
These pics were just to show just how chubby she is and just how blue her eyes are. Can you believe I have a baby with eyes this blue??!! I love it!!

Adam-ondi-ahman and the water park.

Those go together, right?.....:)

On Monday we headed up to Adam-ondi-ahman. It's only about an hour and a half drive for us. Dave's mom and dad went with us and it was so much fun. It is such a spiritual place, you can feel how sacred it is there. Even though it is just land there is just such an awesome and powerful feeling that you get when you drive in and it is beautiful!! It was sooo hot though! The humidity here is just terrible. We ate lunch there and then headed to Haun's Mill and then Far West. It was an amazing day and I love being so close to all these church history sites. Hopefully our next church history trip will be to Nauvoo!!

Tuesday I took Addi for her 6 month check-up (no picutres). She is off the charts for her weight! She weighs 22 pounds!! This girl loves to eat and I love the chub! Also on Tuesday, Dave and I were able to go out to lunch and to a movie, The Proposal, which I actually really liked! It was a lot of fun and is always so nice to go out by ourselves once in a while. Thanks to Dave's mom and dad for watching our kiddos!!

Wednesday we went to this water park here with his cousins. It's pretty cool. They have all kinds of water equipment and buckets that fill up with water and then dump out on you and the best part....it's free! Although I was seriously concerned Jax would catch some horrifying foot fungus or something worse...Dave told me that the chlorine is supposed to kill that. I'm not sure I was 100% convinced but I decided to take the chances. We'll know where he got it from if he turns up with elephantitis....:)

He had sooo much fun. I think I'm going to have to take him there more often. I think he had a smile on his face the whole time. I guess he just felt like doing a sommersault here....ahhh!

And our little Addi. I didn't bring a swim suit for her but it got sooo hot that I had to sit her in the water to cool her off. This is her trying to decide if she liked it or not....

This was when she realized that she didn't....

No, she was much happier sitting in her stroller in the shade!!

Jax and Addi's Pictures

My friend Erin just got this awesome camera and while we were at her house one day she decided to take some pics of the kids. FYI... I wasn't expecting pictures to be taken otherwise I would have had Jaxon's hair done and they would have been matching. :) They turned out pretty cute though I think. Here are some of them...

Look how chubby her little leg is!!!

This picture is cute because this is exactly how Addi smiles 98% of the time..with her mouth wide open!

Jaxon Praying

Jax has started to say prayers. He folds his arms and mumbles in this really high, soft voice. He tries so hard to keep his eyes closed. It is the sweetest thing. Here is a video I got of him doing it!!

Dancing and crayola cafe

So much has happened in the past month! The kids are getting so much bigger, especially Addi. :) They really are jus so much fun though. I got my haircut. I cut bangs. Which is kind of hard to get used to but it always nice to have a change.

Dave had his 4 day this past weekend. I love those! It was pretty busy but I had so much fun. We started it off on Friday night by going to Hulau which is where Dave's brothers and sisters dance. I attempted to learn one of the dances and am pretty sure I failed but that's what practice is for. I hope that I can start dancing, I would love to be able to teach that to my kids so they can know their hawaiian culture. Dave is actually a pretty good dancer. :)

We had dinner with Dave's family a couple weeks ago and the kids all were learning some dances. Here is a video of Jax doing his own little dance.

video

We spent a lot of time with family this weekend which was so nice. It's always nice to be with family! Sunday we went to church and once again, Jax just loved nursery. When I went to go get him after church he didn't even want to come to me...:(

Also, Addi rolled over!! Only once and then I couldn't get it on video. Why is it that babies only do stuff like that when you don't have your camera handy?!
We also went to the Crayola restaurant here in Kansas City. It was a lot of fun! Jax had a blast and Addi slept the entire time. It was so fun to go do something has a family. I love that Jax is getting to the age of enjoying family activities. I can't wait for the Zoo this year!! Here are some pictures of The Crayola Cafe.

Aww...look at those chubby cheeks!

Jax is also in this new phase of carrying as much as he can in his arms all the time. He gets so mad if he can't hold all sorts of weird stuff. It's pretty funny. I guess I should buy him a back pack or something.

This was after he dropped it all.

We also got our new couch! I've waited so long for this day!! I love it! It's a brown sectional with white stitching on it. We also got Dave a recliner. That won't be here for a few more weeks though. I'm so happy though that we finally have a nice place to sit. Yay! Thanks Dave! :)
